Help translate three separate service models into a coherent customer proposition.
One app for renting, sharing and riding
Conceptualizing a unified experience to unify separate SIXT services together under one brand.
TL;DR
I worked with design, product and engineering to conceptualize and create a single mobile experience for rental, car sharing and ride services. The new app replaced separate service-led apps with one customer-led application designed to support engagement and conversion.
1. The situation
Multiple apps, fragmented usr experience
SIXT previously operated separate apps for car rental, taxi bookings and car sharing. Customers not only had to understand the company's service structure before they could solve a mobility need, they had to download and use several different apps. The new concept reversed this logic: one app and one account for a consistent journey across car rentals, sharing and hiring a ride.
2. My role
Defining the concept and connecting it to delivery
Guide how customers move from a mobility need to station, vehicle and booking decisions.
Work across design, product and engineering so the concept supported both usability and conversion.
3. Core journey
From destination to vehicle in one continuous flow
The product progressively narrowed choice without hiding the information customers needed to book with confidence.
4. Design principles
A unified product without flattening customer choice
Need first
Start with destination and context, then surface relevant mobility options.
One interaction language
Use consistent navigation and actions across service types.
Progressive detail
Reveal rate, protection and extras information when each decision is made.
